A submitted launch can succeed, fail, or finish with only some operations complete. Inspect operation results before deciding how to recover it.

Inspect the result

Open the launch in Launcher. Review operation status, provider object IDs, error codes, and suggested recovery steps. Through MCP, read launcher_launches_get, then launcher_run_operations. Use the result’s available operations and recovery guidance instead of guessing from a status label.

Retry unchanged work

Use launcher_launches_retry only for operations that the current result identifies as eligible. Retain the original inputs for that work and use the request fields required by the retry tool. Successful provider writes already exist. Avoid resubmitting the entire batch to address one failed item.

Replace corrected content

To fix a failed item’s content, save and approve a corrected creative version. Through MCP, use launcher_launches_replacement_candidates to find items eligible for replacement. Submit the corrected version with the returned replacement details, the target ad set, and a new request key. Preview the corrected selection and inspect the fresh target before submission. Changed content is a new operation.

Cancel or hold a launch

Use launcher_launches_cancel to request cancellation. Use launcher_launches_change_status to hold or resume an unstarted launch; it does not set the delivery status of existing provider ads. A missed launch time requires Run now or a new time. A cancellation request does not erase provider objects or guarantee that a write already underway stops. Read the resulting state and account activity.
